The current town is pretty new by Perthshire standards and most of the town dates from the middle part of the nineteenth century. Queen Victoria visited the town during 1844 and this led to the town becoming a popular tourist attraction. The town of Pitlochry is at the heart of Scotland and it has a warm hospitable environment, which encourages the tourists to return to the area. The town is home to some very spectacular scenery and it also has a rich clan history. There are a lot of different things that tourists and locals alike can see and do.
